I am going to put a few general things about why I did this or that on my site here:
First off, I have no counter. Why? B/c it would already be up to about 300 just from the times I've visited. I'm constantly visiting my site to check if links work and that that the material on the site is good. I just don't think it's a good way to measure the traffic coming to my site. I tried a poll, but most people jump into the site and get involved and then forget and leave. So I guess there's no perfect method, but at least I'm not messing with the data on the poll.
Secondly, I built this website using WordPad instead of an HTML editor. I did this for a couple reasons. 1, I hate FrontPage. It's always doing goofy things with my formatting. 2, Dreamweaver, the HTML editor I like costs several hundred dollars. Maybe in college when I can get a student discount I can buy it, but not now. 3, I'm used to doing it this way from my coding in Unix. It does, however, exponentially increase the amount of errors I have. So it takes longer and I have to stare at 500 lines of code on each 20 pages for a long time before I can find the error some times. But you get used to it, so oh well.
